  1. “Falling Upward” is an amazing book. I heard an audio-taped version of this material in 2006 and it impacted me deeply. It came just at the right time, as I was beginning to transition into the second half of life and the book came, likewise, just as I was looking for a way to consolidate my experiences. The concept is great and resonates as truth all the way through.
Father Richard, I saw your remark in your December 30 blog post about wishing you had included something about responsibility versus love in the book. I do feel it would have helped; indeed responsibility can be inflexible and overconfident whereas love is gentle and stands on the side of the “little ones” as you say. Perhaps it is a good starting point for another book? I for one would appreciate a fuller exploration of the topic than a blog post can afford.
Incidentally, to those trying to decide which version of the book to buy, I can recommend the audio version read by Father Richard himself, available for use on the Kindle. It was a pleasure to listen to and I will certainly be listening again very soon.

  2. i must admit that when I imagine what Jesus’ voice sounds like, I always settle on Father Richard as my voice of choice. His thoughts and meditations touch a deep place in my heart that opens up my spirituality in ways that I could not have imagined!!
